January Goals

Another new month, another new set of goals. First, we’ll see how I did in December, then I’ll go into what I’ve got planned for this first month of 2016.

January Goals

December’s Goals:

Make latkes for Hannukah. Big fail on this one, but you know what? Totally okay with that. I don’t exactly need to be eating tons of fried food, and there’s always next year. Next year Hannukah falls during and after Christmas, so I’ll have more time!

Pre-schedule at least 2 blog posts every Sunday for the upcoming week. I did this about half the month, so still something I need to work on.

Maintain my current weight. I did this one and I’m so proud! The holiday season is SO hard, plus Weight Watchers tweaked the program some at the beginning of the month. I’m really happy that I maintained and even went down just a little!

Try two new recipes. When I first set this goal I was thinking of dinner recipes, but I actually ended up trying two new holiday recipes! I made Peppermint Bark (which I quickly got addicted to) and a gingerbread loaf!

Enjoy the holidays with my family. We hosted Christmas this year and Abbie had a blast. While I did spend a lot of time in the kitchen, I helped out with my fair share of the celebrations, including Abbie open presents and decorate a gingerbread house. This holiday season was the best one yet, and it only makes me look forward to creating new ones even more.

So what do I have planned for January?

January’s Goals:

Lose 2 pounds. Of course, I’d love more, but I’ve been dealing with the same 5 pounds for months now, and I want to keep it realistic. Going forward, I’m going to be sharing more of what I eat and why in the hopes it’ll help you guys too!

Pre-schedule at least 2 blog posts every Sunday for the upcoming week. I am determined to do this. I know it’s going to make my life so much easier and give me the structure I need – fingers crossed!

Grow my Instagram to 1600 followers. I’ve really been concentrating on growing my Instagram in the past few months, so hopefully I can keep hitting my milestones. Are you following me on Instagram yet?

Try two new recipes. Yep, trying this one again since I was successful at it – hopefully some dinner recipes this time!

Delve more into sharing my personal style. I’ve only recently started to truly figure out my personal style. I’ve shared all my beloved Stitch Fix boxes, but I typically stop there. I’ll be sharing my “Mom Style” on Sundays going forward (see the first one here!) and hopefully sprinkling some more of that in.

Here’s hoping I can accomplish everything! What goals do you have for this month?

  1. I just started weight watchers this week after a three month hiatus. I’m still trying to get used to the new program! Can’t wait for weigh in day!

  2. I’m with you on the starting small with my pounds.. I just went to the gym and weighted myself.. yikes! Definitely put into perspective what I ate/ normally eat. Time to get back in track! Best of luck on your January goals!

  3. I’m starting small with the lbs too! I’m not even going to give myself a number. I gave up Coke and am starting stroller fitness today. I’m scared because I haven’t worked out since having Parker (10.5 months ago!). But we can do this!! Happy new year!

    1. Oh that’s great! I’m not a big soda drinker (and when I do it’s always diet and caffeine free), but for my husband the no soda makes a HUGE difference. You can do it girl!

  4. I am with you on the weight. My goal is to lose .8 pounds a week from Jan 1 to September 30. Totally doable if you think about it. It’s 3.2 pounds a month which seems a bit steep but .8? Not really.

  5. You’ve set some awesome, and attainable goals! Love it.
I’m always on the hunt for new recipes, too! Anything that’s quick, easy (hello, crockpot), and doesn’t break the calorie bank, I’m all about!

    Happy 2016!!
