Stitch Fix #1

Today I’m so excited to share my first Stitch Fix with you!  I kept seeing so many other people sharing theirs, and I knew I had to get in on it!  Losing weight has made me so much more confident in what I wear and trying new things, and this was so much fun.  In filling out my profile, I mentioned I wanted versatile pieces that would work for both the office and home, and my stylist did a great job!  Here’s what I got in my fix – just excuse the poor lighting (and mess) in my bedroom!

Kensie Johnny Skinny Jeans – $88

You guys, I have literally never owned a pair of skinny jeans.  In fact, I don’t think I’d ever tried them on previously.  I’d always stuck to my tried and true boot cut, but thankfully these jeans came in my box and got me out of my comfort zone.

Kensie Johnny Skinny Jeans

You guys, I LOVE these jeans.  I wasn’t sure about them when I first put them on, but the longer I wore them, the more I liked them.  The were super comfortable and fit perfectly, and were a stretchy denim fabric unlike any other jeans I’ve owned.  The color (really dark navy, almost black) was super versatile as well.

I really wanted to keep these jeans, but with me still losing weight and us going into the summer, I just couldn’t justify them.  Virginia gets super hot and humid in the summer, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to wear them much for the next few months, and I was afraid I’d shrink out of the size before I could really get a lot of use out of them.  I sent these back, but I have a feeling I’ll be requesting them in the fall…hopefully in a smaller size!

Mystree Abigail Colorblock Lace Trim Top – $58

When I looked this up online, I wasn’t sure what I’d think of it, but once I put it on, I really loved it.  I love the detailing in the lace on the front and the colorblocking from front to back – it’s so unique!  It’s a perfect top for work especially, but I could see it for a night out as  well.  I kept this one!

Zad Rafaela Beaded Medallion Collar Necklace – $42

just starting getting into big jewelry, so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one.  I really like the colors of it and the idea, but the second I put this necklace on, my hair snagged on the chain.  I sent this one back.

Market and Spruce Corinna Striped Heathered Dolman Top – $48

The fabric and colors of this one made me want to love this one.  The grey and aqua were a gorgeous combination, and it was so soft!  However, once I put it on, it was too big, and the sleeves just looked weird on me (or I couldn’t really figure out how to wear).  Plus it’s a longer style sleeve, and I want to avoid that going into the summer.  I sent this one back.

Pomelo Daisy Embroidered Hem Fit & Flare Skirt – $78

This was the item I was most excited about when I saw it was coming in my fix.  I had actually pinned this skirt onto my inspiration board.  I loved the detailing of it and the cut, and it didn’t disappoint.

Gorgeous, no?  I love everything about it, and I don’t have anything like it in my closet yet.  I love that it can be dressed up or down, and it’ll be perfect not only for summer but going into fall.  It is a little snug on me, but I liked that since I’m hoping to go down in size anyway, and that means it should feel me for a while before I’d need any alterations.  Obviously, I kept it!

Want in on Stitch Fix?  It’s easy!

  • You pay a $20 styling fee (which goes toward your order), then the Stitch Fix stylists picks out  5 items for you to try on.
  • The box arrives at your doorstep.  You try them on and decide what to keep, then send back anything you don’t want.
  • Checkout online, giving feedback about what you did and didn’t like about your fix.
  • If you keep all 5 items, you receive 25% off your order.
  • You get to choose your price range, so your stylist has an idea of what you’re willing to spend.

All in all, I really loved my first fix and really thought my stylist got it right!  She definitely paid attention to my style profile and pinterest board, which I loved.  Everything was really great quality too!  I think in my next fix I’ll ask for another skirt or dress, and make sure to say I don’t want anything long sleeved…at least not until the fall!

Have you tried Stitch Fix?  Did you agree with what I kept?
