Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Did you remember to wear green? I have to be honest – the only reason I remember is because in school, I always forgot. And I always got pinched. I HATE being pinched. People seemed to take it way too literally and would pinch really hard… and I bruise easily. Yep, totally got bruises from pinching… so now I never forget my green.
Moving on, here’s Abbie in her green for the day (and yes, she still uses the pacifier sometimes – it’s an ongoing process)!
It’s been busy around here, but that comes with spring, right? We’re finally getting to go outside again, and it’s not pitch black when we get home at night. I know sometimes people curse daylight savings… but I kind of love it. Abbie was able to spend nearly an hour outside before bed last night – something she hasn’t been able to do in months. It definitely helps her disposition (and ours).
Something else helping my disposition? My essential oils. I’ve been learning more and more about them and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. There are so many different ones I want to try, and it’s just so hard to choose. I seriously have a wish list document going.
Another confession? I may be the only one, but I don’t like baby moccasins. I know, everyone is obsessed and I’m sure they’re comfy for the babies… but they’re just not me.. Good news? I never enter the giveaways for them that I see around, so more moccasins for all of you!
I have a love/hate relationship with the fact that there’s so much chocolate around at work. Stop sabotaging me with deliciousness people!
I tried to replace the leg elastics in Abbie’s cloth diapers last night and failed. I got so frustrated and it just wasn’t worth it anymore. I’m hoping my mother-in-law can do them, because otherwise I’m going to have to send them away to be done. I wish cloth diapering was more common around here and I could take them somewhere!
My mom and sister found a Little Tikes basketball hoop on clearance at Kohl’s and brought it up to us over the weekend. Abbie loves it so much we had to hide it after she went to bed that night. Not about to fight with her over it every day of the week.
I got really angry yesterday when the road I take to pick Abbie up from daycare was closed and I had to find another way… until I found out why. Turns out they found a man’s body. I guess there are worse things to be angry about?
I thought about making a list of all the green foods I love for today, but then all I could think about was how much I wanted an avocado right now. I bet I just made you want one too.
Speaking of avocados, we’re having Mexican food tonight for dinner (chicken fajitas). Guess I’m not very good at being Irish. Then again, I’m only part Irish, so at least I’m wearing and eating something green?
My work bestie is due with her first child in May and I’m already wondering how boring my days are going to be without her while she’s on leave.
I’ve never had a Shamrock Shake and I’m not about to start. With those calories, it’s better not to know what I’m missing.
There’s a chance of snow in our forecast on Friday. Dear winter, please go away.
Anything you want to confess today?

Ehh, I worked at McDonald’s in high school and have never been in love with the shamrock shake. Hope you find a place to fix the diapers!
Well, my MIL fixed them, so I’m all good 🙂
I kind of love daylight savings too… except this year it killed me! I couldn’t adjust. I’m still having trouble over a week later.
and you are definitely missing out on the shamrock shake. Love it.
Don’t tell me that. I need to resist all these fatty delicious things!
More moccs for meeeee! 🙂
I’ve never had a shamrock shake either, but not for any particular reason. I’d probably love it.
Yes to mexican please. I’ll be at your casa tonight.
Yes, more for you!
And yes to Mexican. In fact, I think I want to cancel whatever I had planned for dinner tonight and have that instead. YUM.
Loving Abbie’s choice of green for the day! 😉 Can’t go wrong w/ Disney!! I had a Shamrock shake one time- probably a few years ago. Fell in love with it, then looked up the calorie count— SHEW! Never again haha!
And that’s exactly why I haven’t tried it. Don’t need those calories!
Yay for outside fun! We’ve been getting some too and man it makes everyone happier!!! My favorite evening oils mix is theives (get rid of germs from the day and build up immuitiy for the next day), lavendar, and a touch of lemon or grapefruit. Sometimes i’ll add peace and calming but that sometimes buzzes callie up so I stick with the lavendar! Oh and pacifiers — no judgement here. Callie still uses hers. It’s just not on the battle list right now. I’d rather get her to sit at the table for meals and brush her teeth than worry about something that soothes her!
I’m getting grapefruit in my ER order that’s arriving TODAY. I’m pretty excited. I haven’t gotten peace and calming yet but it’s on my list!
And glad I’m not the only one who isn’t worried about the pacifier 🙂
