Unexpected Three Day Weekend

I know, I’m recapping a weekend on a Tuesday…but that’s what happens when you unexpectedly get a snow day on Monday!  Mother Nature  heaped about 8 inches of snow on us yesterday, so we spent it at home.  Even though days off are nice, it was extra nice to get back to normal this morning.

Friday I left work early at 3pm to head down to Stafford for the semi-annual consignment sale where I get most of Abbie’s clothes each season.  Apparently I didn’t leave early enough, because traffic was horrible and it took us 2.5 hours to get there where it should have only taken 1.  Next time, I’m leaving at noon!  My mother-in-law came with me and my mom met us at the sale, so I was lucky enough to have both of Abbie’s grandmas with me to help pick her wardrobe!

Hopefully I’ll be able to give you more of an idea of our loot later, but here’s a summary – three bags of clothes, two bags of books, a bag of toys, and a little people house.  Total?  $137.25.

Saturday morning we went to our Weight Watchers meeting for the first time ALONE since Abbie was born (we left her home with Grammie and Grampy), and if you missed it on instagram

I got my 25 pound award!  I’m so excited I FINALLY hit this milestone, and I hope I can keep up the momentum I’ve had lately.  I’ve had a few people at work and otherwise tell me I’m inspiring them…and that only pushes me more.  Plus, I’m kicking Chris’ butt, and winning always feels good!

I was going to hit another consignment sale after that, but decided to hold off until I get a better idea of exactly what Abbie still needs clothes-wise.  Instead we headed to the grocery store and home so Abbie could nap.

Saturday night was my friend Heather’s joint bachelor/bachelorette shindig at a bowling alley in Leesburg – and let me tell you, I’m as bad at bowling as I remember.  I still had fun and it was really nice to get together with some of my favorite girls – moms need nights out too!  And of course, I was repping one of my favorite shirts from the lovely Whit.

The lovely bride-to-be!

Sunday morning Chris and his parents took Abbie to church (her first time) while I ran a few errands.  I was worried about how she would do, but Chris said she did really well and was better behaved than some of the older kids!  We followed it up with lunch at our favorite local diner, Amphora.  All in all, a great, yet busy, little weekend….

Ignore my messy bathroom…taking pictures of toddlers is difficult.

And then the snow started.  I know everyone else is too, but I’m seriously tired of these snowstorms.  This is the worst winter I can remember…and I’ve lived in Virginia for 26 years!  Chris and I were both off from work yesterday, so we spent it at home…chasing Abbie around and trying to keep her from hitting the cats (I seriously have to figure out a way to get her to stop!)  Needless to say, we were both pretty happy to get things back to normal this morning!

How was your weekend?
