Weekend Quick Takes – 4.28

This weekend was seriously one of the most fun weekends we’ve had in a long time.  Plus, I started it with a 1.2 pound weight loss on Saturday morning, so that’s always a great thing!

Saturday morning Abbie started swim lessons, and Chris and I have opted to take turns taking her in the water.  My turn was first…and definitely proved to me I need a new swimsuit!  It’s definitely too loose and I’ll have to find a new one for this year.  Abbie overall did well in the water – I think she was confused at first and it took her a little while to get used to it, but by the end we were splashing and playing.  I’m hoping we can get there a little earlier this coming Saturday and she’ll have more time in the water.

Saturday afternoon, my brother- and sister-in-law came over to babysit, and we headed out for Heather and Roswell’s wedding.  It seriously was one of the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to, and so perfectly them.  We had a great time being out with friends and just being ourselves as a couple.  It reminded me how much fun my friends are….I need to see them more often.  Plus, it helps that our husbands get along…or at minimum can find things to talk about!  Plus…I kind of am in LOVE with this dress.  Remember me ordering it a few weeks ago?  Well, it’s perfect, and I’m about to go to Old Navy and buy it in every other color.

Sunday afternoon was our Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae Club’s turn to host International Reunion Day (IRD).  We host IRD as a celebration of sisterhood and it’s a chance to get everyone together – our Founder’s Day nearly always falls on Memorial Day weekend, so Alpha Gam does IRD instead.  Everything came together beautifully and the collegiate girls seemed to have a great time.  This year’s theme was “come home to Alpha Gam,” so our chair, Amy, put together a Wizard of Oz theme.

    1. I know, I LOVE it so much, I can’t even tell you. I’m debating how many of them to buy…it also comes in black and white stripe, gray and white stripe, and solid gray. Decisions, decisions.

  2. What a FUN weekend!! Congrats on the weight loss– you are seriously killing it and looking so great! 🙂 I love both your dresses at the wedding and the reunion!!

  3. How fun!! I’m so ready to put Mia in swim lessons but right now our pool only offers them on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5pm. That is the dumbest time I’ve ever heard of for swim lessons! Ugh!

    1. That IS the dumbest time ever for swim lessons? How are working parents supposed to get there? And no stay-at-home parent is going to want to go at that time either. DUMB.

    1. They were pretty good…but I was good and only had half of one and 3/4 of another. Sharing with sisters helps!

    1. Now you get to go to and help plan fun alum events! I seriously have met so many amazing women as an alum and I know you will too!
