Oh Hey Friday {10.17.14}

So, I had every intention of getting this up bright and early by writing it last night… and it just didn’t happen. Such is life, huh? I am so so excited to see Friday (as always), so let’s get to it.

ONE

I want to say thank you to everyone who left a suggestion on yesterday’s post. Last night went much better since we allowed her to bring a book to bed with her. Yet another reason I love blogging – not sure we would have thought to that on our own. It was a much calmer bedtime last night than the last two, and I’m so thankful. I hated putting Abbie to bed with both of us in tears!

TWO

I got new, bigger monitors at work today, and it’s pretty much the highlight of my week. SO much easier to work with, and it’s going to spoil me. Also, I need new pictures for my desk.

THREE

This week was really hard for me, food and fitness wise. For the first time since I got my Fitbit in January, I didn’t even think about my step goals. I instead concentrated on getting more sleep and trying to recharge myself, which was good, but my weight has suffered as a result. I’m hoping the motivation of my birthday coming up will help me get my butt in gear and get back to it. I’m seeing numbers on the scale I haven’t seen in months, and I’m anxious to get rid of them again. It’s been a pretty major slipup and I’m hoping it’s over.

FOUR

I found out American Girl is bringing back Samantha (aka my favorite doll ever and the one I wanted as a kid and never got), and I’m pretty excited about it. It almost makes me want to buy Abbie one, even though she’s still too young for it. Almost.

FIVE

My birthday is on Wednesday… 31 here I come!

Have a great weekend! Linking up with these ladies!

  1. You could always buy her the AG doll and save it for when she is older. Just a thought or how I would justify it to myself anyway.

    1. Haha, maybe… but I don’t think my husband would be too happy about that hit to our budget right now!

  2. When Callie was 4mo old they released the newest historical doll – Caroline (which is Callie’s full name) I almost bought it that day. Like I was at the mall and in the AG store but came home with a black cat of “caroline’s” for her instead 🙂 I understand. So glad bedtime went smoother and the book in bed helped!! Happy Friday!

    1. Thanks lady! And yes, I’ve seen the Caroline doll too and was contemplating doing that one since it looks the most like Abbie with her blond hair. I really would prefer her to have a historical doll and not just a doll that looks like her.

  3. My Mom and I were JUST talking about Samantha! I had her as a kid. My best friend and I would play with our AG dolls all day long! She bought my daughter the girl of the year this year when she was born. So cute!

    1. I wish I would have had her! I BEGGED my mom for her, but it just wasn’t in the budget.

Then my sisters got dolls. So not fair. Oldest child problems, huh?

  4. Can we be virtual besties? Seriously. I was just reminding my Mom AGAIN how I never got a Molly doll and I so desperately wanted one. In her defense, $100 was a lot for a doll. Now I have an 18 month old niece named Mollie and I have been grabbing up the books (the old cover design of course) for her when she is older. I am worried if I buy a used Molly doll I won’t want to give her up.
    We were so neglected.

    1. That’s exactly why I didn’t have one either – they’re so expensive! I too devoured all the books though.

  5. Happy early birthday! I loved American Girl as a kid and still collect the dolls. I hope they’re still popular when I have kids. The new Samantha is so beautiful!
